Nestled between the Brisbane River and UQ’s stunning St Lucia campus, Duchesne College offers comfort, security and privacy, with a world of opportunity on your doorstep. 

Find the peace and quiet you need to focus on your studies in our library or range of tutorial and meeting rooms. Equipped with desks, whiteboards, lounges, printer, and a range of educational resources, these spaces have everything you need to study and work on assignments.  
 
The renovation of our foyer area in 2023 also created an additional two meeting rooms that can be booked and used by students.  

Our beautiful Dining Hall is where your daily meals are served and formal functions like our Wise Women Dinners are held. We also provide a number of alternative dining spaces around the College, including outdoors in Cafe Duchesne or the Quad, and the Common Room kitchenettes where you can make a cup of tea or a snack.  

It’s important to have communal spaces where you can relax and catch up with friends. Many of our residents like to hand out in our two Common Rooms to watch TV, chat or play boardgames in between classes. 

We also have a beautiful Chapel on site at the College where you’re always welcome, no matter your faith or spirituality.  

Our well-equipped, air-conditioned gym is a dedicated space for Duchesne residents and members, and is available from 6am to 10pm daily. Gym classes are often held throughout the year based on input from our students.

Duchesne College is known for being one of the UQ College accommodation options with a music room, with Brisbane students having the choice of two music practice rooms. These rooms include a piano, and are available to all residents from 6.30am – 10.30pm every day.

We provide a number of energy efficient washers, dryers and clothes lines at the College. All are available 24/7.

There are two networks available for students to use (UQ and eduroam), and we also offer IT support for students through our provider Veracity. That means you’ll have access to high-speed internet and can connect your own computer to the shared printer in the Learning Lounge.

We have approximately 70 parking spaces available for a fee. Car parking is allocated based on a number of priority factors and will be discussed prior to your move in date. Bicycle parking and storage is also available.
