At Duchesne College we’re proud to provide a supportive learning environment that helps you succeed at university and beyond.

A major benefit of joining our Duchesne College community is the range of academic and career support programs available for students. These programs are particularly useful for first year students as they help ease the transition into university and prepare you for assessment.

Our team can support you with:

  • academic mentoring
  • academic workshops
  • study planning
  • assessment advice
  • program change or transfer
  • internship and work experience opportunities

TUTORIAL PROGRAM

At Duchesne we offer a comprehensive tutorial program to complement your university studies. We employ qualified tutors to deliver tutorials at the College covering a broad range of disciplines. You can also participate in tutorials provided by other ‘Lakeside Colleges’ to further enhance your studies and to meet other students studying the same course as you.

CAREER DEVELOPMENT OPPORUNITIES

Each quarter we host a number of events to provide networking and career development opportunities to our residents and associate members. Our Wise Women Dinners and Wise Women Career Success Program offer unique insights into different industries and careers, giving students the chance to connect and learn from inspirational guest speakers.

WE’RE HERE FROM THE VERY BEGINNING

If you’re a first-year student, our team will meet with you during Semester 1 to ensure you’re coping well and achieving your academic goals. We encourage you to take full advantage of the extra support that is available at Duchesne College to maximise your learning opportunities and get the most out of your college experience.  We’ve found that students who attend our tutorial program and career development events not only achieve better results in their courses, but can also find a better balance between study, social and work.
